Welding with TIG process on copper strip


We are now going to weld with TIG
process on copper strip. Copper is characterized as being one of the best
electricity conductors and this factor is decisive in its behaviour during welding. As the material dissipates the temperature very quickly we will need a
higher welding current than normal, about 70 amps per millimeter of material to
weld. But, when the material is hot, we will
only have the rod filling and the displacement speed to balance the
temperature. The use of pulsed arc or other new generation arcs permits and
increase of thermal control over the part, obtained higher-quality beads
