Mustang SR Performance Braided Stainless Steel Hydraulic Clutch Line (05-14 All) Review

Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com here
with a must have upgrade for any stock or modified S197. I’m referring to the SR Performance
braided stainless steel hydraulic clutch line, fitting all 2005 and newer Mustangs. SR Performance
has really made a name for themselves in the aftermarket Mustang world thanks to their
wide variety of high quality performance and suspension components, that fit nicely into
just about anyone’s budget. To keep tabs on the rest of the SR Performance line up, you
just have to subscribe to our YouTube channel by clicking on the link below or on the AM
logo in the corner at any point during this video. Alright, so let’s explain why you might
need something like this, well, the factory clutch line in all 2005 and newer manual Mustangs
is made out of a hard plastic material, and like any plastic it has to swell under pressure,
especially when things get hot under the engine bay. Any swelling or distortion of that factory
plastic line can lead to a lack of pressure at the slave cylinder, resulting in inconsistent
shifts, pedal engagement, especially when you’re trying to bang gears quickly like at
the track for instance. By going with a Teflon line, braided stainless hose like this SR
Performance hose here, you’re never going to have to worry about the line swelling,
cracking or melting like you would with the plastic line. In addition the clutch pedal
feel should improve greatly and just feel more smooth and responsive overall. Some folks
have said that by switching to a stainless line, this helped take some of the notchiness
out of their shifter, while other Mustang owners have said that installing a stainless
line helps the pedal engage a little higher off the floor, meaning you’re not going to
have to press the clutch pedal down all the way to shift gears anymore. If you want to
learn more about what people are saying about the SR Performance clutch line, and you’re
not already watching this video on our site, just click on the link below to head back
to our product page over at AmericanMuscle.com. Removing the factory line and installing the
new stainless line will require some work in the engine bay and underneath the car in
addition to reaching into some pretty tight spots. Because of this the install can be
a little tricky especially if you have big hands like myself, but you can expect to spend
about 2 hours getting the job done. Once the line is installed just check your brake fluid
levels, you might end up losing a few ounces removing the factory line. You will notice
the SR Performance line does not have a bleeder on it, so that means you’re going to have
to bleed the system before going for a spin. To do this you need to pump the clutch pedal
a number of times, some people have said it takes close to a hundred times before you
get your pedal back fully. So once you have your pedal back, go take it for a spin around
the neighborhood first just to make sure the car shifts smoothly. That’s pretty much it
man but if you should have any questions just give us a call at 855-422-7439, or shoot us

plastic clutch line in your 2005 and newer Mustang with a quality stainless piece, then
