Job Oriented Courses for Mechanical Engineers

Tom was working for timber merchant from five
years as wood cutter. But in spite of his hard work he never got
a salary increment. And suddenly one day Dave a new woodcutter
also came to work for same timber merchant. But Dave who has just finished his six months
got bonus plus 50% hike in salary. Confused and with little disappointment Tom
went and asked Dave, “I also worked hard like you but I never got a raise in five years
but you got your salary increment in first six months, Please tell me your secret.” Dave smiled and saw Tom’s Axe and said my
friend when did you last time sharpened your axe. Tom said never. Dave said I sharpen my axe every day. Now here Tom is student who has really work
hard in getting degree but never got a job. But a student like Dave also acquired some
additional skills with degree and got a job with good salary as well. Let’s see some courses you can do to acquire
these technical skills, which can help you in getting the job by enhancing your Resume. But you have to remember one thing, no course
guarantees for job, it just increases your probability to get one. First and well-structured course is Masters
in core branch like Thermal, Design and Manufacturing. But I guess you already know it. Anyway, if you need more information on M.tech
you can see my videos on GATE. Now if you analyse what kind of job prospects
are there in Mechanical, it will be mostly in design, research and productions. Each are interlinked, whatever product you
design and research will have to get into production. For design and research, industry use many
tools like CAD, CAM, CAE etc. CAD is design tools which creats 3D model
and drawing which is normally used for Manufacturing. Some of the famous CAD tools are Autocad,
Pro-E, CATIA, Solidworks etc. Now you can learn any of the tool rest tools
will be similar. But I would suggest learn Autocad and Pro-E
(Creo) which is actually widely used in Industries. Similar tools like PDMS and SP3d etc are used
for piping design for big plants. These tools requirement is in great demand
in Oil, Power plant industries. Many industries for research and analysis
use CAE tools for Finite Element Method and Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis. These are little advanced tools which also
require good fundamental knowledge of subjects. These tools are mostly preferred by Post graduate
students. Some of the best tools are Ansys, Abacus etc. Now you can learn these tools from any certified
institutes. But I would suggest going for govt. recognised
institutes which have relatively lower fees and more structured programme. For your reference some of them are
MSME tool Rooms like in Aurangabad, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Indore etc. You can get the list of these tool rooms in
this link Also you can search Skill India Website for similar or additional courses
Now for Production and Manufacturing you can also learn similar tools which have different
modules like CAM, PLM etc. Best thing to learn while taking any CAD tool
is GD&T i.e Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances. It is must skill for creating manufacturing
drawing and also for quality inspection of manufactured product. In production you need management skills for
which either you can do MBA or Post graduate diploma in Production management or Quality
management. There are 1 year and 6 months certificate
courses available for Quality management in best institutes like Indian Statistical Institute,
Indian School of Bussiness and Management Bangalore and Ahemdabad etc. Similarly for best institutes for production
management are NITIE Bombay, MBA in IITs, IIPM etc. Apart from these you can also join govt. training
institutes which offer many professional courses in various industries which are very specific. Some of them are
National Power training Institute for Power plants
Indian Institute of Petroleum CSIR for Oil industries. Safety professional Institute for Industrial
safety. All the institute links which are mentioned
above will be added in Descriptions. All right guys, hope this information is helpful
for you. Please share it with others who might be needing
this information. Comment if you have any doubts. You will find some important links in description. Our Engineering videos usually come on every
