How to Calibrate the CO Monitor on Your BreatheAir System

(upbeat music) – Today we will calibrate the CO monitors, for your Miller breathe
air portable box or panel. Before beginning, please know
for accurate calibration, do not substitute gasses of greater or lesser parts per million values. Your calibration kit
contains the following: a storage case, a regulator
assembly with tube, a 17 liters cylinder of Zero Air, a 17 liters cylinder with a concentration of 20 parts per million of
carbon monoxide for US users, or 10 parts per million carbon
monoxide for Canadian users. The first phase of the
calibration process, is zero adjustment. To start, turn the monitor on, and allow it to stabilize
for at least 15 seconds. Connect the regulator to
the zero air cylinder, and then to the monitor. Open the regulator by turning
the knob counter clockwise. Allow the monitor to stabilize
for 15 seconds or more. Using the calibration tool,
turn the zero screw clockwise to increase the value. Or counter clockwise
to decrease the value, until it reads 00. Close the regulator, then remove
from the Zero Air cylinder. The second phase of
the calibration process is Span Adjustment. If the monitor is not removed as shown, it’s normal for the alarms
to go off during this phase. The monitor should remain on. To begin with span adjustment, connect the regulator to the
carbon monoxide gas cylinder, and open the regulator by turning
the knob counter clockwise Allow the monitor to stabilize
for 15 seconds or more. Using the calibration tool, turn the span screw clockwise
to increase the value, or counter clockwise to decrease the value until it reads 20 for US users,
or 10 for Canadian users. Close the regulator, then remove from the carbon
monoxide gas cylinder. The third phase of the calibration process is to repeat the zero adjustment. You can reference phase
one for this procedure. When done, press the metal clip to easily remove the
tube from the monitor. The calibration process is complete, and you can turn the monitor off. Monthly monitor
calibrations are recommended to ensure peak safety performance of your BreatheAir portable box or panel. For service or support,
