Can I Merge Two Facebook Business Pages? Yes!

– Can I merge two Facebook business pages? Yes. That question comes up a
lot, so if you’ve got it, you’re not alone. I’ll show you how to do it right now. (upbeat music) What’s up, busy people? Welcome to “Five Minute Social Media.” If you have been getting
frustrated with your social media, feel like you’re putting
out way more effort than what you’re getting in results, you’re in a great place. Every week, we put out a quick video to help you with a different piece of your social media marketing strategy. If that sounds like
something you could use, take a second, hit
subscribe, click that bell. (bell ringing) And that way, you’ll be notified each week when we put out another helpful video. My name is Jerry Potter, yes
it rhymes with the boy wizard. And today, I’m gonna show you how to merge two Facebook pages. Perhaps you found an old one
that you didn’t know about, started by a former employee. Maybe Facebook automatically
generated a community page, which is what happens when someone tries to check into your business,
and they can’t find the official page, or the
official page didn’t exist yet. Whatever it might be, here’s
the process to merge two pages. So this is the site you’re gonna come to to try and merge the two pages, and I’ll tell you where to
get this URL here in a second. But before you bother with the process, I wanna make sure that you
do indeed have two pages that can be merged. For example, these are about pages, business pages, not profiles. You can’t merge two personal accounts if you have more than one. You can only request to
merge, as it says here, if you’re an admin on both pages. The pages must have the
same thing represented and have similar names. So if you are an admin
on both pages, go through and make sure as many
things match as you can in terms of, if it’s two
locations, make sure the address is written the same way,
make sure that the names of the pages are as close possible. Sometimes they won’t
let you name two pages that you’re an admin on,
the exact same thing, but make it close. This will make the process go much faster. You can’t undo it once you have started the process to merge pages. People who have liked the second page that you’re getting
rid of will be notified that you’re merging into the new page. And all the content on the old page, the one that you’re
merging into the new one, like posts, photos, the
username, they’ll be deleted, but likes and check-ins will
be merged in from both pages onto the new page. So, those are the things
to know before you start. You can find this link in the
description of this video. So I’m going up here to these
two boxes and you’re gonna start typing in the name
of the page that you are an admin on and select it. Then, once you’re ready, hit continue. It’ll just remind you the page you’ll keep and it’ll show you how
many likes you have. Obviously, you probably
want the one that is your bigger one. And then it shows you which
one you’re gonna merge. Don’t move forward unless
you’re sure this is right. Then you hit request merge. Because the names of these
were so close it actually went through instantly. Sometimes, if your secondary
page is more popular or there are too many
things that are different you may run into some struggle. But if everything is set up
right it should go through relatively quickly like that. I hope that worked for you. It doesn’t work 100% of
the time, but pretty close if you are an admin on both pages. By the way, once your pages
are merged you’ll want to make sure to optimize
that page for profit. We’ve put together a free,
five-minute Facebook face lift to help you do just that. You can go to the
facebookfacelift.com or get the link in the description to this video. Any questions? Let me know down in the comments. Otherwise, if it was helpful

  6. I'm not able to merge my pages I've 2 pages with same names, same category, same business representing almost everything same. whenever I tried to make it merge it blocks my both pages for being merged for 1 week. I've no idea why it is not merging my pages. I'm the only admin on both pages. It shows me the following error:

Pages Can't Be Merged. An error has occurred while merging pages.

Limits have been placed on your pages.

Your Page has been blocked from being merged. This limit is temporary and expires Thursday, 19 September 2019 at 02:01.

  7. Great content. I just had a client who want their pages merge. Do i need to download first the data then proceed on merging? If it fails in the process, what could be the turn around?

  8. Hey Jerry, i followed your steps, everything went fine, except when i reached the confirm merge request pop up. The page that i wanna keep is showing up in the the page that will be merged and the old page that i wanna merge is showing up in the page that i'll keep. 9. Do you know if this is possible between two Instagram business pages? I've heard of people being able to do so, but I can't seem to find anything online about it.

  10. Hi Jerry, Thanks for this video. Really helpful. I am attempting to merge three pages into one of the business. This is so that there will be only one page, but different physical locations under that one brand page. The three current pages represent different locations. I have removed the address info and maps, and telephone numbers from each of the pages. Then using the merge instructions you give in the video, I am getting this error still… (These Pages can't be merged because they are too far apart. Each page can only have one place associated with it. Don't use this tool to merge different branches of your business. If these places refer to the same place, try changing the address on the destination place and waiting for the location to update.) I am an admin on all three pages? Any ideas on this, please? Thank you.

  11. Hi Jerry, is it possible to backup 2nd page and then restore it to the first page so as to keep content from both

  12. Thank you for this video. It has been helpful to read through the comments but I am still getting this message "These Pages can't be merged because they're part of different Business Manager accounts." I have taken people off as Admin, disconnected from my IG. It looks like one is in business manager and the other is not…one is title Sacred Union and the other Sacred Warrioress…Any ideas that can help me merge these two?

  13. I'm trying to merge 2 pages but a message comes up saying that there is a "pending merge request" on one of them and doesn't let me do it.. what can i do? thanks for your help!

  15. Hi Jerry, thanks for this. Just to clarify I'm leaving a company and creating a new. Same product. Obviously my new page will have zero likes, reviews followed etc if I merge will the likes and reviews etc move across with it. Or is it just the likes and follows ? Thanks Ant

  16. Thank you! I have a page that I have been constantly focusing content that's about 2 year old FB page and the original older page has been on FB for 9 years. The new page was created because we changed the business name and until recently could not get the name changed on the seasoned (9 year) account. When I go to merge it automatically shows us keeping the older page. Should I just go with this (both pages have about the same number of likes but the newer page has more local likes) I do not know how to change the "page to keep" or if I should want to keep and start over on the 9 year page. TIA!

  17. Hello sir! I have a serious problem.

On my facebook business page the "like" button suddenly disappeared! (3 months ago)

I have already check everything of my settings!

Everything is ok but the "like" button doesn't exist.

I tried to create another page with the exactly same features in order to merge.

The merge can not be done.

    Could you please help me?!

The "like" button is working through the application such "facebook lite" but it doesn't work through any of web browsers.
    Thank you Sir!
Below is the specific facebook page.

  19. Hi Jerry –

A client of ours has two company pages (they recently merged), however, they are also in the midst of a re-brand. How would this process work? Do we need to create a new company Facebook page with the new name, then merge the two existing pages into this? Or do we merge and change the name of one of them? Thank you!

  20. Thanks for the video, i have 2 pages similar , i have been also told facebook can remove /delete your pages if they dont meet requirements & i would be terrified if i lost my main page . Can they do this ?
