Bug-O Systems: Fabtech 2012 Highlights

The following video includes a selection
of products available form Bug-O Systems. Piper Plus is the most advanced
mechanized pipe welding system available from Bug-O Systems. The Piper Plus system is fully integrated
with Lincoln PowerWave S350 and utilizes the latest in advanced digital world process control. The Piper Plus is a self-contained
digitally controlled mechanized pipe welding system. It provides high deposition rates with
outstanding weld quality which will reduce pipe welding costs by
increasing duty cycle and arc on time all of which provides significant
improvements in productivity. All welding parameters including voltage, wire feed speed, current, travel and oscillation are
programmable and digitally controlled within the
Piper Plus. The Piper Plus designed for field welding of pipe 14 inchs and greater and in nearly any wall thickness. The Modular Drive System with the linear
weaver is commonly set up the weld beveled butt joints or overly surfaces and can be used in a position. The unit is capable of weave widths from 1/8 – 2 inches and weave speeds up to one hundred inches per minute the weaver control module operates the
pendulum or linear weaver as well as the master drive unit. The optional remote cable can be used to
put the control module in the operators hands. The control module features a digital
readout display and control knob for a dusting longitudinal travel speed as
well as a switch for forward stop and reverse. The mode selector switch allows you to
choose one of four well patterns for even greater world in control making this an extremely popular option
for today’s demanding needs. The K-Bug 3000 is a programmable compact heavy-duty fillet welder with
oscillation capabilities. A lightweight portable carriage
utilizing powerful magnets clamps directly to the workplace. The guide wheels are designed to track
directly along the work piece. The K-Bug 3000 features
programmable control of weave perimeters that include tractor speed weave speed and weave width while also providing independent setting
for left and right dwell The K-Bug 3000 has the
capability to work and all positions as well as a vertical lifting capacity of
50 lbs. The K-Bug 3000 features limit
switches that can simultaneously stop machine travel and welding process. The Modular Drive System with the
pendulum weaver is commonly used for fillet welds horizontal welds and overhead welds. The unit is capable of weave widths from 1/8 – 2 inches and weave speeds up to speeds up to 100 inches per minute. The pendulum weaver a control module
operates the weaver as well as the master drive unit. The optional remote cable can be used to
put the control module into the operators hands. the control module features a digital
readout display and a control knob for adjusting the longitudinal travel speed
as well as a switch for forward stop and reverse. The mode selector switch allows you to
choose one of four weld patterns for even greater welding control making this an extremely versatile
option for today’s demanding needs. As with any of the MDS units it runs on any
Bug-O Rail when using the appropriate carriage. The K-Bug 1000 is a programmable digital compact straight-line fillet welder carriage. It creates continuous or intermittent
stitch welds at a constant travel speed producing high quality uniform welds in
a fraction of the time required for manual welding. Regulated travel speed eliminates
excessive well deposition and helps reduce defects. The K-Bug 1000 features limit
switches that can simultaneously stop machine travel welding process. Precise control with programmable puddle
buildup and crater fill improves weld penetration controls undercut. The K-Bug 1000 is also capable
of traveling on a 75 degree incline. The Go-Fer III you see here is utilizing
the oxy fuels kit for making a straightline cut. It can also be used for weld
preparation beveling The Bug-O torch holder accept any standard 1 3/8 inch diameter with 32 inch gear rack allowing the customer to utilize their own tips. Torches and tips from various manufacturers available from Big-O on request. The quick action gas manifold mounted
to the rear of the machine is used as a strain relief for the torch This gives the operator of the ability
to turn the pre-heat gases on and off without having to re-adjust the gas flow to the torch. The Go-fer III can also be used plasma cutting or welding. The MM1 is a microprocessor controlled
machines that automates the cutting of profiles, holes, novels and shapes on pipe with diameters from 4 – 24 inches. The system rotates the pipe on its own
roller bead with three jaw chuck for simultaneously moving a cutting
torch back-and-forth along the pipe axis. Pre-programmed shape such as saddle,
hillside lateral and miter cuts can be made
by simply the type of cut from the menu in the pendant. then endering the diameter of the pipe
pressing the run button cut your pipe. There is no need for templates
time-consuming layouts for calculations. Additionally for irregular or uncommon shapes
can be plotted, programmed and save for future use. The machines pipe bed is designed to handle
lenghts of pipe up to a 8 ft. and with the appropriate extensions can accommodate
up to 38 foot lengths. Bug-O Systems is located in Canonsburg, Pa U.S.A. Bug-O Systems has been supplying
cutting in what he mechanization since 1948.
