Hei alle sammen! Be welcome to another video here at my channel I am in Bergen! And today I will do a very special tour for the ones who loves metal just like me. I will visit some important places to the black metal history here in Bergen. For the ones who doesn’t know, Bergen is the second biggest city in Norway so a couple of things happened here too. If you don’t know anything about it, I will recommend a documentary that I recommended before. It’s linked down on the description box. So you can understand a little about all of the events that happened in the 90s in Norway First stop is the Fantoft Church, that it’s a wood church it was burned in 1992 we are going by car because it’s a little far from city center it’s more or less 20 minutes from here but you can also get there by bus. We are here where the church is located maximum we can get by car is there. Now we are going up in the middle of the forest to find the church. Just got here at Fantoft and if you still don’t know the story of this church in June from 1992 it was burned and this was part of the black metal acts during the 90s. Who set fire here was Varg Vikernes He said he set fire at the church as retaliation for the christians who built a church in pagan ground. After that, in March in 1993 the album Aske was released and the album cover is the church carcass I will put the picture at the screen for you. To get inside the church we had to pay 60kr per person. Just showed inside the church for you there was an old lady there who looked like very religious and she started explain about the church and when she was talking about the events from 92 she started looking at me and Thomas with a very weird face showing that she didn’t want us there. She was very uncomfortable saying that was a satanist group that set fire at the church. That the “young guy” who did this was called Varg Vikernes and that he had a small band with horrible music. Anyway, me and Thomas started to feel uncomfortable and we decided to leave to let her speak whatever she wanted to her tourist about the church. It was funny. Continuing our tour i’ve just arrived at the house where the address was in the first Burzum’s demo tapes. So Varg used to live here. In this apartment in the beginning of the 90s. I will add the address in the screen if you want to visit and check the front door. The street is very beautiful. 3 minutes walking from Varg’s apartment I arrived at that epic and funny picture of Gorgoroth. If you don’t know, who is in the picture is Einar Selvik who is part of Wardruna’s project nowadays. That project where he plays a lot of norse music and also was part of Viking’s soundtrack. It was here that he took that picture with that old lady looking at him like WTF. And there is also a picture online that he came back here with his son. Very cool. I will make my own version of that picture, of course. And also will add the address in the screen is very close to Varg’s apartment, in Bergen’s city center. I couldn’t find many record shops in Bergen. Yesterday I was at Apollon that is a bar with a record shop. If you missed the video I recorded yesterday it’s linked in the cards above the screen. And now I am going to a shop that’s part of a chain in Norway there are some in Oslo and here in Bergen is a two floors store. I will show you that it’s a very regular shop with many black metal albums. I faild. I said I was not going to buy anything but I did. Thomas also bought something. Show what you bought. And I bought a record as well Morningrise from Opeth in white! I’m at Grieghallen which is basically a concert and event place but in the beginning of the 90s at Grieghallen’s basement there was a studio with this very famous producer, called Pytten. And here many important albums were recorded for the black metal history. A lot of Gorgoroth’s albums, some Borknagar’s albums Emperor, Hvis Lyset tar oss from Burzum some Taake albums. De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, was also recorded here. So yes, this place carries a lot of black metal history. There will be an extra in this video. Because I am doing daily vlogs, even if this video is focused on black metal I will add it in this video anyway. We are going up in the mountain because there it’s very sunny in Bergen We are going up to Ulriken. So we’ll take a bus to get the cable car. The complete tour costed us 270kr per person. I will show you while it happens.. Wow, what a magnificent view! Ulriken is the highest of the 7 mountains from Bergen and it’s 643 meters over the sea level. The view from here is amazing. It’s a completely different view from Fløibanen. That I am going tomorrow, will show for you guys as well. There is zero protection. It’s you and the mountain. Behind me there is a Norwegian flag. And it’s simply amazing here. It totally worth it. Specially if it’s a beautiful day as it is today. It’s been a while since I talked to you guys at the Ulriken. Now we are going to have dinner. Looks weird but it’s already over 8pm and the sun is still shining. This is spring and summer here in Norway. We’re going to a place which I think it’s a good tip for the ones who likes rock and metal here in Bergen I’ve never been there and I will see if it’s a good place when I get there, if there is live band playing because the place it’s called Inside Live Rock and Cafe. But what I know is that a burger joint. I think it will be okay, we’ll get to know together. After the burger joint, which I super recommend, I think it was great. We went to Garage, which I think it doesn’t need any introduction. It was opened in 1990 and it’s the most renowned metal and rock bar in all Scandinavia. A lot of bands have played there already. But… Very empty. There was almost no one. We stayed there a while, because here in Norway it’s very common to drink at home and you go later to the bar. But not even that. Very disappointing. It worth to drink some beers. But that’s it, let suggestions on the comments box of more places or things you want me to show here in Norway about metal and black metal. The day is coming to an end. It’s very light but it’s already over midnight. Like this video if you liked it share it and follow me on my social media it’s always linked below in the description box. And meet again in the next video. Ha det bra!
