My name’s Rich Baker, I’m a metal sculpting artist. I’ve been doing this for around four years, full time and I love every second
of it. So I’ve been very fortunate to discover a new lens that 3M has come up with. Those of you who weld for a living or just as a hobby or on the side you know that usually when you see a piece when you’re welding the colours are basically the shades of green. Now with this new lens it’s opened up a whole different colour pallet. I can see blues, a bit of whites in there, some gold colours in there, even on the occasion I swear I see reds, which is to me, very very important. I feel as if I’m looking at the weld that I’m doing without a helmet on. That I’m just able to watch what I’m welding, watch how I’m welding it because everything I do is very high detail, so the more detail I see, even in colour cause I
don’t like seeing things in Black and White or green. So the more colour I see the more creative I feel and the more productive I feel, and I know that my end product is better.
