2015-2017 Ford F-150 Carrichs Fender Trim – Polished Stainless Steel Review & Install

Hey, what’s going on, guys? Adam here with americanmuscle.com. Today, I’m bringing you a quick overview of
Carrich’s fender trim in the polished stainless steel option fitting all 2015 and newer F-150s. So in this video, I’ll be touching on the
functionality and styling of the fender trim options I have here as well as the quality
and the materials. At the end of the video, I’ll be touching
on the installation, which I’ll tell you up front will have two installation methods for
you to choose from, the first of which will be a simple no-drill installation that can
be removed. It’ll get a one out of three wrenches on the
difficulty meter. The other option will actually have some drilling
involved which will be a little bit more permanent and will get a two out of three wrenches on
the difficulty meter there. Let’s jump right into it. Carrich’s fender trim in the polished stainless
steel option I have here today is going to be for the 2015 or newer F-150 owner out there
looking to pick up some attractive exterior styling pieces that double as slight protection
for the factory fender lips from any small hazards that may cause some damage. So when adding a set of fender trim like the
ones I have here today, you’re essentially adding two main functions, the first of which
would be protection like I said against any small hazards like rocks or door dings. The second of which would be styling which
obviously is because of the mirror-like shine which is usually reserved for the premium
limited packages. Protecting your factory fender lips will be
a big factor when shopping around for fender trim add-ons like the ones I have here today. I do want to point out that these are not
super thick and shouldn’t be considered fender flares or armor at all. But I will say that they will offer slight
protection for your fender lips from any rocks that may be kicked up from your tires or maybe
some door dings in the parking lot. With that said, if you are more interested
in picking up more protection while also getting the shiny styling this offers, I would definitely
recommend checking out Carrich’s X fender flares in the polished stainless steel option
like these. Basically gonna look exactly like this but
be a lot thicker like it would be for a fender flare, and they’ll offer a lot more protection. Now, with the styling aspect of things I said
I’d touch on in the beginning, this one obviously offers a shiny mirror-like chrome finish which
is definitely a big game changer for the sides of your truck. Now, the chrome appearance definitely won’t
be for everybody, but if you are interested in that mirror-like shine, this part, I believe,
would definitely be for you. The fender trim I have here today is manufactured
out of a high-quality stainless steel and is all custom molded for perfect fitment onto
your vehicle. All this is also including a rubber trim on
the inside to make sure it doesn’t damage your factory paint and that it offers a no
gap installation and to make sure it looks like it came on your car from the factory. Now, all this was finished in a polished finish
to give it that attractive good look and the mirror shine like appearance. Now, price wise, if you are interested in
picking up this fender trim kit, you’ll expect to be spending just about 80 bucks. Definitely not an expensive piece to pick
up for exterior styling and protection. Now with this, you are getting a lot of bang
for your buck with the good quality stainless steel and the durable polished finish that
won’t chip or crack. For the easy method for the installation for
the guys out there who do not want to make any permanent modifications to your vehicle
and really want the option to take these off without seeing drilled holes, all you’re going
to need to do is take the seven hooked clips and place them through the pre-drilled holes
on each one of the fender trims pulling them through the other side with a pair of pliers
and bending them back toward the inner wheel well. Once they’re secured in place, you can repeat
the process for each one of the fender trims and you’re good to go. Definitely giving this a one out of three
wrenches on the difficulty meter, something you can complete in about 30 minutes tops. Now, for the more permanent installation,
you will be required to use a drill to get this job done. Now, you’ll use the seven pre-drilled holes
in each one of the fender trim as a guide and use the screws provided in the kit as
well as a Phillips head screwdriver to secure it in place. All said and done, you’ll be looking at using
an hour of your time in the driveway at home. This one definitely gets two out of three
wrenches on the difficulty meter simply because it requires a little bit more work. Just to wrap things up, guys, if you’re the
owner of a 2015 or newer F-150 and you’re looking to get an attractive exterior styling
piece that doubles as slight protection for your fender lips, you might want to check
out Carrich’s fender trim in the polished stainless steel available right here at americanmuscle.com.
